Sarah Schmid

Sarah Schmid is the RNS&K Director. She has worked at RNS&K since 2001. Sarah has a dual Bachelor of Arts degree from Frostburg State University in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. She has graduate coursework from Frostburg State University, Trinity College, as well as the University of Maryland.

As Director, she wears many hats including managing the facility, staff, and ensuring RNS&K is an enriching, nurturing, and loving environment. Sarah started her education career with the Montgomery County Department of Recreation as a Site Director of Summer Centers for many years. Sarah taught in West Virginia, as well as in the Western Maryland public school system.

Here at RNS&K, she has taught ages 2 through Prekindergarten. Sarah developed and ran an after-school Enrichment program, better known as “Enrichment Rocks,” for the Pre-K students at RNS&K. Enrichment Rocks provides a wonderful extracurricular opportunity in literature, science, culture, movement, and art with a multisensory discipline .

Her interests include interpretive sign language, young adult ministries, and woodworking alongside her husband Nick and three amazing adult children.
